OUR MINISTRY
Founded by horsemen to serve horsemen, Blue Grass Farms Chaplaincy was formed in 2003 by a group of industry leaders.  The chaplaincy serves the varied needs of owners, managers, staff and their family by providing a full-time chaplain to visit Central Kentucky farms, sales grounds, racetrack, training centers, equine hospitals, transport services and other entities associated with the promotion of Thoroughbred racing.

The well-being of man and horse go hand-in-hand in the pursuit of excellence, competitiveness, integrity, and the sportsmanship of Thoroughbred racing.

A FRIENDLY TOUCH
Our chaplain visits approximately 20 farms and equine businesses per week to talk with owners, managers and workers.  He also spends one day per week at Keeneland visiting the backstretch.  The chaplain takes sick or injured workers to the doctor; visits workers and family members who are homebound or hospitalized; conducts funerals and provides confidential counseling and bereavement services.

The Chaplaincy also provides many services to farm management such as assistance with document translation and human resources matters and often acts as a liaison to bring about harmony in the workplace.

Our chaplain is at Keeneland during the race meet; and visits the barns of Keeneland and Fasig-Tipton during their sales.  He also covers the equine hospitals; transport companies; and training centers.  Summer activities for farm workers include competitive sports such as soccer, volleyball and baseball.  Summer play-offs provide great team building opportunities and lasting friendships.

The chaplaincy does not discriminate based on race, religion, sex , or creed.
